Comments

When you leave a comment on our website, the data entered in the comment form, your IP address and your browser's user agent are collected to help us detect undesirable comments.

An anonymized string created from your e-mail address (also known as a hash) can be sent to the Gravatar service to verify your use of the service. Gravatar's privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment has been validated, your profile photo will be publicly visible next to your comment.

Media

If you are a registered user uploading images to the website, we advise you to avoid uploading images containing EXIF data of GPS coordinates. Visitors to your website may download and extract location data from these images.

Contact form

When using the contact form, to enable us to respond to you in a more personal way, we ask for your name and e-mail address. This data is not kept after our response and is not passed on to anyone else, so it will not be used for commercial purposes by third parties.

The site does not store the content or any trace of your messages sent via one of our forms.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you will be asked to save your name, e-mail address and website in cookies. This is purely for your convenience, so that you don't have to enter this information if you post another comment later. These cookies expire after one year.

If you have an account and log on to this site, a temporary cookie will be created to determine whether your browser accepts cookies. It contains no personal data and will be deleted automatically when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will set a number of cookies to record your login information and screen preferences. The lifetime of a connection cookie is two days, that of a screen option cookie is one year. If you check "Remember me", your login cookie will be kept for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookie will be deleted.

By modifying or publishing an article, an additional cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie does not contain any personal data. It simply indicates the identifier of the article you have just modified. It expires after one day.

How do I delete or refuse unwanted cookies?

We offer 3 solutions:

- First solution:
Refuse cookies when you arrive on the site via the banner at the bottom of the site (settings on cookies accepted or not are also possible).

- 3rd solution

If you do not wish to receive cookies, you can set your browser to alert you when cookies are received, or to refuse them altogether. However, if you set your browser to refuse cookies automatically, you will no longer be able to use certain functions on this site.

To find out how to proceed, please consult the links below according to your browser type:

- 2nd solution:

You can disable them by installing a free extension to your Internet browser, Ghostery. Ghostery is available for all major browsers (Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Internet Explorer) and also as an application for mobiles (Android and iPhone). It's free, and by default it doesn't record any information about its users, to protect your privacy.

Download Ghostery and install it on the browser you're using. You then have two options: either disable cookies for all the websites you visit, or choose in real time which cookies you want to block or allow.

Disable cookies everywhere:

In Ghostery's options, you'll find a "Blocking Options" section with several tabs, including a "Cookies" tab.

Cookies are listed in 4 main categories:

  • Analytics - These are statistical cookies, which record website traffic, for example.
  • Beacons - These cookies have a wide range of functions: for example, they can be used to see how many subscribers have opened a newsletter, or to suggest you read other articles on the same subject when you visit a site, and so on.
  • Advertising - These cookies enable us to display ads that correspond to your interests (targeted ads).
  • Widgets - These cookies are mostly linked to social networks: they enable you to follow a site on these networks, to comment on a site, to share articles, and so on.

It's up to you to choose what you want to disable.

Deactivate cookies in real time:

This is what Ghostery will do by default. It displays a small blue ghost-shaped icon in your browser, indicating the number of cookies detected on each site. By clicking on this icon, you can then block them on a case-by-case basis.

For information on the advanced operation of Ghostery, please consult their FAQ, which answers the following questions Frequently asked questions about using Ghostery.
