When is the best time to visit Mauritius?

Vast debate!

Mauritius enjoys a pleasant tropical climate all year round, but in our opinion the best months are: March to June and September to November. July and August are not unpleasant, but the temperature in these 2 months is lower than the rest of the year (between 20 and 25°C), which is not necessarily to the displeasure of those who don't like the heat! as for January and February, it can be very hot (over 30°C) which, with the humidity, can be difficult for people who don't like (or can't stand) tropical heat; moreover, this is the cyclonic period, and cyclones are still fairly rare, but can cause days of heavy rain or even a ban on going out

Another important point: what is your budget?
in fact prices can vary enormously depending on the month chosen (we can even talk of simple to double as regards the prices of plane tickets!), so sometimes the best time to come to Mauritius is when it is the cheapest...
Let's get back to the weather, there are never any absolute certainties! Generally speaking, it rarely rains for long in Mauritius and often not on the whole island, so if it rains on one side of the island, you just have to go to the other side...
Can you swim all year round?

Yes, the water temperature varies between 23°C (August-September) and 29°C (February-March). The water remains pleasant all year round, even during the southern winter.

You can buy a prepaid SIM card at the airport or in the stores of local telephone operators such as My.T, Emtel or Chili. Make sure your phone is unlocked to accept a foreign SIM card.

Our advice is to go to the telephone operators' websites before you leave and pre-order a sim card. On arrival at the airport, you'll find the operators' stands in the exit hall, where someone will install the SIM card in your phone. Complete Guide to SIM Cards for Tourists in Mauritius

Where can I exchange money when I arrive in Mauritius?

You can exchange money at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, where you'll find exchange offices. Banks and some hotels also offer this service.
