Major Annual Festivals
Kreol International Festival
This iconic festival celebrates Mauritian and Creole identity through a week of cultural events. The program includes sega concerts featuring local and regional artists, traditional regattas, culinary workshops (Kiliner Festival), conferences, open-air cinema, fashion shows (Lamod Fashion Show), and Sware Poezi (poetry evenings). Since its inception in 2006, this popular festival has brought together more than 18 million Creole speakers worldwide and is an important part of Mauritian culture.
